Taking responsibility for social, environmental and economic impact is an ongoing business strategy embraced by Target. It creates value for its guests, team members, shareholders and communities. Since opening its doors in 1962, the company has given 5 percent of its income and millions of volunteer hours to the communities it serves. Today, 5 percent in giving equals more than $3 million every week to support education, the arts, social services and volunteerism. Visit Target.com/careers.

University of Medicine & Health Services/International University of Nursing

We have developed a traditional medical school curriculum that utilizes problem-based learning with an emphasis on clinical correlations. A thorough knowledge of the basic biomedical sciences is emphasized, and students are introduced to history taking, physical exam skills, and problem-solving techniques. Upon completion of the Basic Science Program (in St. Kitts), students return to the United States for the Clinical Program during semesters five through 10. Students complete their fifth-semester studies at our facilities in Portland, Maine. The fifth semester includes an Introduction to Clinical Medicine II and Biological Basis of Clinical Medicine. An extensive USMLE review is also offered in the fifth semester to ensure a high pass rate on USMLE Step I.

The Clinical Program is designed to give students a broad spectrum of medical practice, training in clinical skills, and patient contact. Core and elective rotations are completed at U.S. teaching hospitals affiliated with the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. UMHS has established affiliations with a number of teaching hospitals in New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Oklahoma, Georgia and Puerto Rico. In addition, we are continuing to expand the core clinical affiliations and are in negotiations with a significant number of teaching hospitals in a variety of states including, but not limited to, Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. Students at UMHS are eligible to sit for the United States Medical Licensing Exam. Graduates who have successfully passed Step I and Step II CK and CS of the USMLE may be eligible for ECFMG certification, which is required to obtain a residency in the United States. Step III of the USMLE is taken after graduation.
