Letter from the Director
Your decision to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign brings with it a wealth of new opportunities to explore your interests and to achieve your personal goals. Your experiences during the coming years will guide you toward major decisions concerning your life and your career. The quality of those decisions will depend, in great measure, upon the approach that you take toward University life. In a very real sense, the degree of initiative, dedication, and commitment that you are able to demonstrate in your college years will determine your personal and professional success in years to come.
Because the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is so large and complex it can easily be intimidating and dispiriting at times. For these reasons, The Office of Minority Student Affairs' professional staff are ready to help you answer questions and solve problems that may arise, before and after you arrive.
Keep in mind that this website is by no means exhaustive. Upon your arrival you will find many more programs, organizations, and people to help make your life on the Urbana-Champaign campus enjoyable and rewarding both academically and personally.
The Office of Minority Student Affairs is here to serve you in many ways. We encourage you to take advantage of the many services that we, and the other departments listed in this guide have to offer you. We are all committed and dedicated to insure that your life on our campus will be enjoyable, enriching, rewarding and successful.
